Huye District is easily accessible by the road from Kigali, the capital City of Rwanda. It is the paved road covering 135 km from Kigali, Kamonyi, Nyanza to Huye. The road also connects Huye District with Burundi via Nyaruguru District and DRC via Nyamagabe, Nyamasheke and Rusizi Districts in Western Province. In early 2025, a new paved road connecting Kigali, Bugesera, Nyanza and Huye was completed and the road offers a new road route to reach Huye.

Public transports options including buses, transport cars, moto cycles operate regularly. Other options like walking and travelling by bikes are also popular in Huye District. While Huye Does not have an airport, international visitors access Huye through Kigali International Airport and continue by road.
